The Venice Biennale 2009 is honestly bad, except for few talented artists.
Modern art is dead now. They are too old. In biennale, I saw repetition of "modern" art. They strive to be unique; however, instead they just appear to be obsolete.
Nicola Verlato is one of the great artists in the biennale. He does not try to be unique, but his work appears to be distinctive with its quality and honesty. His painting does not ask you to be a knowlegeble art critic; it fascinates you whoever you are.
Art should not be accompanied by pretentious explanation. A work of art should stand itself and attract the audience, unless it is not an art.
